At Specialist Heat Exchangers we operate our own thermal design software package. These programs have been developed using Heat Transfer Theory combined with empirical data from our heat laboratory. This enables us to provide you with the most efficient heat transfer solution using the wide range of surfaces that we offer.


All of our Heat Exchangers are designed, reviewed and validated in accordance with project requirements. For both pressure retention and structural integrity. We operate in accordance with ASME VIII div T for pressure vessels, the pressure equipment directive and other codes of compliance.

At Specialist Heat Exchangers we validate our Thermal and Mechanical design studies by using the latest 3d Solid modelling software. Our system allows us to apply material properties into the software whilst creating a full model of the cooler, providing us with feedback such as Mass and Center of Gravity for the design allong the way. The 3D system understands assembly, component and sheet metal characteristics, providing us with the ability to generate a virtual prototype for you cooler, before committing to physical steel, supporting a right first time strategy.


Our ERP system allows us to integrate all functions of the business to enable us to reduce lead times, capacity planning, montior work in real time and react to the ever changing demands of the manufacturing industry.

In the ever demanding market place, we are able to meet the needs of national, international and industry standards from The Machinery Directive (Pressure Equipment Directive, ATEX and CE marking) to Russian CUTR, DOSH, API661 / 614 to name but a few. We also operate our own document control system that allows us to interface with customer requirements to ensure full control of project document transmittals.


Our in house welding cell has the full capability to meet the demands of any welding required on our heat exchangers. From pressure vessel welds, in accordance with ASME IX, to structural welding for the support structures. We can offer a full range of welding processes to enable us to offer the most efficient manufacturing of our heat exchangers. We offer carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex and copper nickel as pressure vessel materials. We also have the capability to weld other exotic materials on request.


We strive to ensure that all process operate in the most effective way, from CNC machining with machining centres and lathes to high definition plasma cutting. At SHE we operate all processes in house which allows us to control costs and react to the ever changing demands on projects and upstream specification requirements.
